Hello
Lucifer9,
I hope you are doing good. Your profile looks good on the surface. You have a solid 4.5 years of experience in a leadership position at a leading fintech startup, with promotions indicating your capabilities. Having connections at the CXO level who can vouch for you can be a significant advantage. Strong letters of recommendation (LORs) can greatly enhance your application. Your leadership roles, both at work and during college events, demonstrate your ability to take charge and lead teams.
A GMAT score of 600 is on the lower side for top-tier MBA programs, especially if you're targeting consulting roles post-MBA. Typically, for leading MBA programs, a score above 700 is considered competitive. A better GMAT score can also help offset any perceived weaknesses in other areas of your profile. While you have some involvement in college events, showcasing more diverse extracurricular achievements could strengthen your profile.
Highlight your achievements, leadership experience, and how an MBA aligns with your career goals. Be clear about why you are pursuing an MBA and how it fits into your long-term career plan, especially in consulting. Overall, while you have several strengths in your profile, aiming for a higher GMAT score and enhancing your extracurricular activities could strengthen your application and increase your chances of securing admission to a top-tier MBA program. Given your aspirations in consulting, a stronger application would position you better for roles in top consulting firms post-MBA.

Hi, I took GMAT and scored 600
Profile summary:
26M
70% in both X and XII boards (State Board)
B.Com (2.9/4.3 CGPA)
Currently in a Leadership position at a leading fintech startup (total work ex 4.5 years, been promoted 3 times already). Fairly connected with industry folks at CXO level who would happily write a LOR.
Been club lead/volunteer at a couple of college events but don't have much to show in terms of extracurricular achievements.
I am confused as to what should be the next step. re-attempt GMAT and try for a better score or should I go ahead and make the application?
I plan to move to consulting post-MBA.
