an = a1 + d ( n – 1 )
(1) a515=98=a1+5(515-1) a1=98-5*514 =>suff
(2) a500=-2667+5(500-1) => suff

now we have to find out t(5) =a+499(5)

(1)-->a+514(5)=-98
=>a=-3668=>t(5)=-1173(SUFF)

(2)a=-2668
=>t(5)=-1173(SUFF)

I don't think any math has to be done here. If you know there's a sequence, you know the pattern of the sequence, and you know a term in the sequence you can answer the question. So it's sufficient for both and thus D. This question is made so that people will get nervous when they see the number 825 and answer incorrectly.
