Solved with a different approach
without the limitation of starting a new book on a same day of reading an old book it would allow her to read 50*28=1400 pages
1400 pages shows in the table as 10 books
now for the 10 first books, sum all the residuals of book pages that are above a multiply of 50
for the first book : 253 - take 3 for the 2nd: 110 - take 10 and so on....
3+10+17+20+5+5+20+15+5=100 --> which equals to 2 days
subtract 2 days from 10 and you get the answer 8

No new book on the day she finished a book
Everything above an even division is a day more:
1. 253 / 50 = 6 days
2. 110 / 50 = 3 days
3. 117 / 50 = 3 days
4. 170 / 50 = 4 days
5. 155 / 50 = 4 days
6. 50 / 1 = 1 day
7. 205 / 50 = 5 days
8. 70 / 50 = 2 days
Resulting in: 6 + 3 + 3 + 4 +1 + 5 +2 = 28 days = 8 books
