Hey,
I am applying to Bschools and one of the pieces of advice I received was to include any and all non-profit or entrepreneurial experience and how it inspired you to broaden your horizons in terms of post MBA career/life. I have been "running" a very small side business reselling tickets to popular events for pocket/beer money (like 2-3% of my total annual income) for several years. I don't have a record of this because it doesn't require a website or anything other than a Stubhub account to operate.
The question is this -- should I take the time to create a landing page to have something to point to in order to speak to this "business"? Is the concept too undesirable to include in an application (scalping tickets is generally seen as kind of shady)? Do I risk looking amatuerish compared to just letting my full time employment (Fortune 100 marketing) speak for itself?
Thanks in advance. Good luck to everyone else applying.
This kind of business is perceived as sleazy and illegal somehow.
Adding it to your CV would be risky. It infers your business mindset, risk taking personality and investing attitude, but may attack your integrity and image.
I think your CV is brilliant without it.
