just another consultant here to tell you yes I think this would be a good idea. I mean given that the average GMAT is 740 at Stanford now and you are kind of part of an over-represented group as a white male it probably would be wise to put yourself in better steed. That said it's not a deal-breaker and I don't think you should commit hari-kari if you can't increase your score.
If you have the time and the ability to do this *without sacrificing other elements of your applications* then do so.
But set a hard stop at like at the end of May because at that point your applications have to take full priority. If you work 80hrs/wk even before then.
It's just really really important not to keep trying for that Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory ticket called the GMAT when you are faced with a huge opportunity to differentiate yourself in your application.
It does require looking at your whole profile to really answer this question, if you don't have any community leadership experience than that really might be like a bigger priority for you.
No adcom really pounds the table for a GMAT score but they do for someone that they see making a difference in the world and doing an Innovative job leading a good cause..
your score is sufficient but probably not going to win the game at this point for the schools. So evaluate strategically the best use of your time.
