I'm about to take the exam in 15 days from today. That's the good news.
Now, the sad news is that I got 550 on GMATPrep twice
1st) Q:35 V:31
and 15 days later...
2nd) Q:36 V:28
I have been trying to study after work and weekends for months, not very efficiently I suppose, but now I have left work (for a number of reasons but thought this was a good chance to start studying more intensively), and I have all week available to study. When I booked my exam I thought that about 1-1.5 months would be efficient to nail down all the quant principles and improve my SC and RC skills and maybe go for a 650. I mostly tried to concentrate on quant.
Now, I can feel the improvement, I am more confident in many areas, slopes, right triagles etc, combinatorics etc, certainly more familiar with the question types, however I am making many careless mistakes on the actual practice tests (the ones you bang your head when you review them) and that's mainly because I miss a crucial word in the stem, or don't read the whole question, or even selecting sometimes the wrong answer ( both together sufficient , so D! Next!

)
The truth is that I have been burning myself out day after day, I can feel it when my brain just stops calculating the simplest stuff, or when I see a x = 3 + 5 and I write on the paper x = 3 - 5 or something. Then I get sick and admit I need to stop for the day.
I also got a 600 in
MGMAT about a month ago or more, though without an IR or AWA if I remember well.
Lately I subscribed for GMATPill to go through the fundamentals and exercises again, and since many people advocate that they have seen improvement, I thought I'd give it a chance.
Obviously I am doing something wrong, and I feel that in best case I could score something like 600, worst case 530.
Should I postpone my exam or should I still go for experience's sake? I'm more inclined on the 2nd choice. Btw I've scheduled a 10 day holidays the day after, and at the moment, knowing that I haven't got much hope for the first time, I'm putting my hope on the 2nd time I'll take the exam (somewhere in the next 3 months I suppose).
