Should I send official GMAT score to schools?

Hi everyone,

Current college senior planning to apply to business school in 4-5 years. Took the GMAT Focus recently and received a 715, so pretty happy. Should I send the score to some of the schools I'm interested in? I'm aiming for M7 but I read that for many of them they accept self-reported scores. I'm also considering retaking it so would it be better to send a good score in now? Thanks!

A score of 715 is an excellent score.

You must share it with the target schools.

You have a stellar score and may report it to some of your target schools; having said that, a number of schools prefer more recent scores; hence, if you are applying after 5 years, please be prepared to retake the test at that point as well.

Just use the free sends.  Don't pay to send to more schools at this point.

Schools will accept unofficial scores till you get in. (Most schools.) And this is about 4 - 5 years away, and you may get a better score by then.

So don't waste money.

Yes, send. You can always send your second scores if you decide to retake it and do better.
