Hi
ankiprat001,
I wouldn't encourage you to retake the GMAT. 770 is fantastic - very nice work! However, your IR and AWA do seem low compared to the 770. Did you get higher scores on previous sittings? Here are a few suggestions on approach:
- If you have higher IR/AWA scores on previous sittings, you could submit the previous GMAT scores with this one when you submit the application. In addition to this, you could write an optional essay to highlight the higher IR/AWA scores and state that although you didn't get the higher scores on one sitting, the higher scores on other sittings demonstrates your capabilities.
- Your recommenders can highlight the IR and AWA skills.
- Your essays can demonstrate IR/AWA skills through the stories/experiences you share as well as your actual writing skills.
Throughout your 8 years of work experience, see if you can come up with areas that you've demonstrated strong skillsets in the AWA/IR areas and incorporate those in your application. With a 770, top programs will be looking for ways to admit you...you will have to make that clear and apparent somewhere else in the application! Hi Folks,
I have given my GMAT exam last month. After my 3rd attempt i.e. in 4th attempt. I got 770.
Q 51
V 44
IR 4
AWA 4
I am aiming for:-
HBS/CBS/Stanford/Wharton/Sloan/Kellogg/Booth/LBS/INSEAD
Having 8 years of work experience and in between, I have one master's degree from NTU(Singapore) in Engineering Background. What did you suggest?
Should I need to retake my GMAT exam?
My AWA and IR scores are less. What should I do to increase my chances of getting into M7 and INSEAD/LBS?
