Which of the following most weakens the argument's conclusion?

A) Kahva's number of customers went down 15% last year.
B) Of the 9 coffee shops that advertised on the local radio, only Java's business increased.
C) 78% of the businesses that advertise on the local radio report an increase in business volume.
D) The local radio station has over 10,000 listeners.
E) The local radio station dedicates 15% of its air time to commercials.

Goal: increase business volume
Plan: advertise on radio station

Premise: Java coffee reported an increase in business volume by advertising on radio station.

In order to weaken the argument we need to show the plan will not achieve its goal or advertising won't lead to increase in business volume.


A) Kahva's number of customers went down 15% last year.

This may actually support as advertising may help in getting back some customers leading to increase in business.
B) Of the 9 coffee shops that advertised on the local radio, only Java's business increased.

This weakens as it suggests that advertising on radio may not result in an increase in business volume as success rate 1/9 is quite low.
C) 78% of the businesses that advertise on the local radio report an increase in business volume.
This strengthens the plan.
D) The local radio station has over 10,000 listeners.
This may strengthen the plan as you know you have a lot of listeners who will see the company's advertisement
E) The local radio station dedicates 15% of its air time to commercials.
This may strengthen again as this suggests that listeners will be adequately exposed to the advertisement.
