I guess I don't really understand all the ruckus about not having been ding'ed yet or why the lack of dings would indicate that their admissions dept. isn't being run properly. Unless i'm mistaken, I think most programs do all of their ding/accepts on acceptance day or very close to it.
Now, certainly, if you haven't gotten an interview invite at this point, and I haven't either, there's a good chance you/I will be dinged, but I don't really see why anyone has reason to complain that they haven't been officially ding'ed a month in advance of the decision date.
I realize MIT has offered early dings in the past, but maybe they've simply decided not to do that anymore.
