Congrats and welcome admits!!!! There should be a link to the google groups on the admit portal! Request to join and check out the fun we've been having the last 2 months. Lots of city meet ups and discussion threads on everything bschool. We use this over FB, although there is FB group as well.

FYI what I heard about waitlist process: Candidates aren't ranked. Instead, there is an admit and a waitlister who share similar profiles. If the admit declines Sloan, then the offer goes to that particular waitlister. Thus in effect, they are able to maintain roughly the desired mix of students.

1) Kinda creepy if you think too long about it and 2) don't beat yourself up about rank. Pray that your doppleganger decides to go elsewhere :)

I couldn't agree with you more, though you can add "white US male with anything other than consulting or IB on resume". I spent 10 years across 2 big companies building a resume I thought would be worthy of these schools. I've lived some of the businesses cases these schools teach. I was the only person in those positions who didn't already have an elite tier MBA. I've done years of strategy work on decisions as big as $2B. Yet, I was told in a ding report that my experience is "boring" simply because of my titles. How more superficial can you get?

Putting the sweeping assertions in your post to one side...

I hate to say this, but at 10 years work experience, you're pushing the top end of the typical profile of MBA students. Not that it's impossible to be admitted, but it's definitely an uphill struggle. No adcom would ever mention this as a factor in ding feedback to you, but looking at the work experience distribution of most schools would likely confirm this.

Have you considered an Exec MBA, which may fit better with your profile (or.. in any case, will be in a year or two)?

Edit: example age profile for HBS is at: https://www.bschooladmissionsformula.com ... anford-62/ - this shows that at HBS, 76% of the class had between 3 and 5 years work experience.
