Booking the date before 3 months, I went to the test centre to face & possibly beat the GMAT.
Unfortunately, when they did the ID check, my passport name and my account name didn't match.
My MBA.com account name was "Siva Sandeeep" (firstname lastname) and in the passport it was "SivaSandeep Subramanian" (firstname lastname).
I admit it, the mistake was on my part and I feel like a fool for not checking these simple things.
Posting this to tell GMAT takers to be careful when registering and cross-checking details.
Anyone have any idea on whether this will be taken as my first attempt? I don't mind losing my money, but I'd like to take exam as soon as possible.
If this is taken as first attempt, will I able to write the exam only after a month?
Any ideas?

Yes, the name and date of birth have to be entered correctly. The center does not have any latitude in this matter. If there is any mistake here, you have to get in touch with Pearson customer support ASAP, before the test. I recommend you still call them up to ask about the rescheduling process.
From what I've seen on mba. com, the site programming won't allow you to book another appointment before the minimum of 16 days (applicable from tomorrow) whether the test was taken or canceled (it's allowed if you're changing the date before taking the test though).

Well, I tried calling both Pearson and GMAT customer care and unfortunately today is Saturday. I can't contact them for another 36 hours or so. I've sent a mail to them though.
The test center people raised an incident report for this and handed me a print out. I'm not sure what to do with that. I've shared all the details to MBA.com customer care.
This would be one of the worst weekend of my life !!
