Hi guys,

I just sent in my application, what do you think about my chances?

GMAT: 700 Q:46 V:40
GPA: 3.33/4 from an ok school in sweden (well known to swedes) majored in financial economics, (grades are a bit better in quant courses like statistics and applied micro and so on)
No relevant work experience.

Do I have a shot?

BTW, y'all, Scmuckben is either lying or didn't perform well in interview and the applications, which I find hard to believe. Otherwise, with those stats, he should be applying to LSE/Oxford. Just FYI, SSE is NOT that selective.

wish i was part of some weird comment army of SSE. btw i can't think of anything else rather than my essay that I could have messed up but i'm not sure if the motivational essay actually plays a deciding role at all.

how are you so sure that sse is not that selective?

I am impressed of all your achievements! Can't be an easy job for the admission team if ca 700 application profiles look like these.
Hopefully the people that write in these forums are the ones at the very top then

Do you guys think it is an advantage to be a Swedish citizen? If yes, how big is the advantage? Just curious to know if I am biased

Applied for MSc in Finance, especially interested in the Investment Management path!

After a disappointing result for the GMAT I postponed my application to Stockholm for another year. Going to work abroad at the corporate finance department of a bank and try my chances next year during early applications. Good luck to the rest of you!

I took the GRE
170q but only 4.0 in the analytical part; 1.5/4.0 from German Uni in Econ; PE, M&A and Big4 internships
Couldn't make the early deadline. Does anyone know of someone who got an early admission in January/February? I think they sent out some offers before March even to the people who applied to the January deadline the last years.

Thanks for sharing SSEaddm and SSEMFin cool profiles! Makes waiting much easier when there is at least some activity here..

SSEaddm / The AWA is still 56th% so they should not cares after a 98th% quant in my opinion. The AWA is still only about keyboard typing speed anyway

170 is rare, so have to ask if you hade any wrong answers? I got 165q 90th% with 4 wrong answers only at the second part.

More applicants with GRE and GMAT scores for the MScFinance?

I'm also applying for MSc Finance, here's my profile;

MSc in industrial engineering from Swedish university, to be finished by june.
GPA 4/5
No relevant work experience.
A few international experiences, erasmus etc.
GMAT V41 Q48 (720, 94 %), AWA 3,5 (Scandal)

Hopefully I have a shoot eventhough my AWA is a shame.

If anyone is interested in the GRE stats from last year, I asked them a while ago if it's a problem to have less than 4.5 in the Analytical Writing section, this was their reply:

"Thank you for your email and your interest in SSE. There is no cut-off for this part, as indicated. And here come some number regarding Quant part for GRE for admitted students for this program:

Average GRE 164.6

Lowest GRE 160

Highest GRE 170

Median GRE 163.5 "

Has anyone who applied as of 2016 january recieved any notification? SSE website says results are in mid march but while reading prev posts, i see that some got letters early in march last year. Best of luck to all.
