I felt really good about my essays. I was confident about my writing skills having served as an editor for a local non-profit publication. The interview too went really well -- I bonded well with the interviewer and we chatted for almost an hour and a half about our backgrounds.

I think the fact that I'm of Indian origin and currently working for a technology company that could have doomed me to the WL pile. Also, the vast difference between my current job and the last could have been a concern. My family business involved manufacture of industrial products while I currently work for a high-tech corporation in Silicon Valley.

Hi Lepium (or any other board manager)

Could one of you plzzzzz update the status of R1 applicants in the first post? It would be nice to be able to effectively track each of these sticky's to get a quick idea of how things are going.

SaturnRing11, sorry to read about your WL. I really wish you do get into Stanford, you defi seem to have the right stats. Please update us once you hear something.

Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that! Or actually not that much. W/L at Stanford is a great achievement. Keep pushing for it.

I'll update the front page once I get formal confirmation of my ding.

lepium, sorry to know that you got dinged. Good luck with your other apps.
Saturn, though it might be of small consolation, even a WL from Stanford is a great achievement. Your profile is solid, am sure you will get into a Top5-10 school. Good luck!

I don't think I'm out of it yet. Stanford mentioned in their WL letter that they plan to have 50 people on the WL. This is significantly lower than in previous years (75-270).

Hopefully, I still have a shot.

Have you checked the Apply Yourself website? I did not receive any e-mail notifying me that the decision was available, but when I logged in on the deadline, there it was. Even until today, I have received no "your decision is ready" e-mail.

Hope it helps. L.

Sorry to hear that. But it was a long shot for almost everyone. Good luck with the rest of your apps.

I have updated page 1 with this result.
Go saturnring! Make your W/L an admit and make us proud!

I'm going to keep fighting to get off the wait list. Visited the Stanford MBA admissions office today and sat through a Marketing class. It was a lot of fun.. the professor had a great sense of humor.

Hopefully, they will see the level of interest I have and factor that into their decision making.

Saturnring11,
It's good to have attended the class. But how are you going to advertise that you attended the class? Would you go the ADCOM and tell them that you attended it, or phone call them?

Stanford accepts updated materials from people on the Waitlist. I'll factor that into my letter...
