we need a actor modifier for "still employing" , only B has the logical Subject

A simple logic here. The introductory modifier should aptly modify the modern day biological taxonomists. Only B has that option.

I understand that it has to be option B but what about correlative pair "not only X but aslo Y". option B does break that rule.

modern day biological taxonomists using new technology can not only classify species, but sort

Is this some kind of typo, experts please help!!

Still employing the system of binomial nomenclature devised in the eighteenth century by Linnaeus, should modify someone. Only option that does so is option B, hence correct answer.

(A) new technology enables modern day biological taxonomists to not only classify species, but to sort

(B) modern day biological taxonomists using new technology can not only classify species, but sort

(C) using new technology enables modern day biological taxonomists to not only classify species, but to sort

(D) using new technology not only in classifying species, but modern day biological taxonomists are enabled to also sort them for

(E) When modern day biological taxonomists are enabled by new technology, not only do they classify species, they also can sort

KAPLAN OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:



B

It's not the new technology that's "employing the system of binomial nomenclature." Only people can do that. You need the choice that has a group of people as its subject, and that's (B) with "taxonomists." Don't be thrown by technical language. You don't have to understand anything about taxonomy or "binomial nomenclature" to see that the underlined part of this sentence should feature a subject that can be logically modified by the preceding phrase.
