I am struggling with CR questions, especially those with convoluted language. I am a visual learner and tend to write a lot while solving problems. This works in my favor for Quant, as writing each step helps me avoid silly math mistakes. However, this same habit works to my disadvantage in Verbal (especially CR), as I end up taking excessive notes, which consumes most of my time. Consequently, I always miss at least three Verbal questions in GMAT mocks.
Do you have any tips to help me improve at CR?

Need to identify the conclusion, and the reasoning supporting the identified conclusion. Thereafter, evaluate the options keeping the reasoning at the back of the mind.
To improve your Critical Reasoning (CR) skills while managing time efficiently, focus on a structured approach: identify the conclusion, evidence, and assumptions in each argument. Use visual aids like flowcharts or diagrams to summarize the argument without writing excessive notes, which helps you stay focused. Practice active pre-thinking to anticipate the type of answer before seeing the options, and aim to spend no more than 2 minutes per question to avoid overanalyzing. Lastly, drill complex CR questions in timed practice sessions to refine your efficiency and reduce the temptation to take unnecessary notes.
