Interesting. Why do you think you are spending 30 hrs when they state it takes ~15 hrs per week? Do I actually need the LSAT resources? Can I use the online OG bundle or do I need the physical books? I saw a comment that said the online bundle didn’t allow to see questions in the order mentioned in the study plan (not sure if that’s the case)
You could be right. I was considering the greater number - 5 weekdays x 3 hours + 2 weekends x (5 or 6) hrs.

LSAT was strongly recommended by the prep designer (GMATNinja) - Reason being that the RC and CR sets are tougher, consistent in difficulty compared to GMAT official questions. The plan aims to build stamina and pattern recognition by doing 1 CR or RC set in a one hour sitting. So strongly suggested to take online LSAT subscription (1 year) or buy Official LSAT Preptests online(preferably 29-38)

As for OG question bank, heard that all questions that are in books are already there in online bank. In fact online bank is where most questions are present for DI. OG and DI guide only contain Data Sufficiency & TPA questions. So doesn’t matter if you don’t have the books, but online banks(OG+DI guide + Verbal guide) are strongly needed. Order is in a way edition dependent and plan suggests not to worry too much about this anyway.

Got it, thanks! So when in the study plan they say “OG quant #1-25, it doesnt really matter what the questions are since they are in the same difficulty level? One last question - what are you using to learn new concepts? Does the study plan include that? For example, let’s say that it’s time to get into probability and I don’t remember much about it, do they provide resources to learn from or are you on your own?

Yes. The official questions, at least in the books increase in difficulty as you move forward. Even in online question bank you can filter by difficulty. So doesn’t matter. But more on that below.

Good and important question. Plan mostly suggests you to go through videos (on GMATClub and GMATNinja YouTube channels mostly) for concept building. These videos while excellent in explanations, might not necessarily seem comprehensive and building confidence as they lack topic wise/chapter wise approach. It is expected that you supplement with GMATClub sets. However, if one still needs detailed concepts just doing sets won’t help in my opinion. The approach is fine for verbal and DI to a large extent but Quant is where you could feel inadequate. The videos in general assume that you are already decent with basic stuff and not always feel like they have a definite start and end. They deal with one question type for each concept and move along with increased difficulty. Compare that with some prep company that deals chapter wise and covers all concepts, question types. But be cautious, for you might lose too much time trying to gain undesired mastery in Quant topics. Law of diminishing returns. So the 25 questions sets suggested in 13 week plan might not necessarily be to your liking if, say, you get frustrated seeing a question that you did not have strong basics to begin with. Hence better find something (Khan’s academy/GMATClub quant book, Prep company, etc) if you are someone who needs detailed concepts and their practice to perform better.

For Verbal the videos are adequate if you can supplement by grinding LSAT sets and apply the approach outlined in videos on consistent basis. DI in extension too is mostly Verbal and Quant combined. You might however want to practice as many different types of charts for Graphical Interpretation as I felt that knowing the nature of graph is important before going to exam.

I personally had already completed all basics before (having taken official exam few times) and felt that someone completely new to GMAT Prep without solid basics might find this 13 week plan somewhat frustrating.

BUT, the plan is an excellent compilation of best resources and cuts all unwanted stuff so that people need not get stuck in this prep for several months and years. It makes sure that if you can do what’s in the plan, supplement with resources as you feel necessary, and practice hard as suggested you can get this exam over with in 15 weeks - With thorough practice, consistent review and analysis of what you’re doing wrong, and concept building being the essential ingredients.

Yes there is. It is called Functions in the official guide and is part of Algebra I believe in the book.

Hi Phi8, imho no. The contents in the three review books (or actually in the main OG, as they are the same) are quite high-level, without going into much depth.

I believe you can "taylor-made" your own version of the study plan, by supplementing other materials for learning topical concepts and strategies.

For example for Quant, you can use the GMAT Club Math book, which is a free pdf download. Or you can use Bunuel’s heroic quant guide: ultimate-gmat-quantitative-preparation-guide-244512.html

For Verbal, actually GMAT Ninja’s videos on Youtube are excellent already. But you can also supplement with, for example, Manhattan Prep’s RC and CR guide, which you can get 2nd-hand from eBay for like 10 bucks a book. I even know someone using PowerScore LSAT Bibles for the CR and RC content.

For DI, there is not much other resource out there. GMAT Ninja’s Youtube playlist on Youtube is one of the best.
