I am giving my exam in july 2019 but I have the official study guide of 2018. Can I use that for preparing myself for the exam or do I need to buy the 2019 edition ?

Posted from my mobile device

There is not much difference between the 2018 and 2019 OG. You can very well use your 2018 OG. Rest I will try to arrange the latest OG edition in pdf format.

Hi Jmavani,

The OG2018, OG2019 and OG2020 are all remarkably similar books, so any of them would be helpful to you during your studies (you do not need them all though). That having been said, while the OG books are great sources for practice questions, but they're not designed to teach you Tactics, patterns or the little 'secrets' behind the GMAT - for those, you'll need Course-oriented materials.

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs/mocks (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Jmavani,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. So, you will not be at a disadvantage by using the 2018 version of the Official Guide. In fact, many of the practice questions in the 2018 version are also in the 2019 version. That said, are you using any other resources for your prep? What is your score goal?
