Hi sanna14, have you taken a mock GMAT, and how did you fare? From there, I would assess where to invest your energy; meaning the higher ROI for your effort. Taking into consideration how much time you have spent already. It's generally thought that GRE is an easier exam, but would still recommend you do a mock GMAT for comparison. Don't forget about study groups and hiring a tutor for whichever exam; switch up the approach as you would anything else in life where you are stuck.

Hi! I scored a 322 in GRE. Should I work on improving my GRE score or should I switch to GMAT prep? All the B schools that I am aiming for accept GRE except INSEAD. I am aiming to apply in Round 1- any advice is welcome:). Thanks

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I will look at the Free GMAT prep.

1. What's your background - I am an Indian Citizen with a law degree. CGPA-3.5/4
2. Work experience details- I have 6.5 years of PQE as on today.
3. Which region are you looking at applying- Mostly the US

Let me know if you have anything more to add.

Hi Sanna14,

GRE (ETS) has done a good job getting GRE accepted in most schools. However, do understand that just most (more than 80%) candidates apply with GMAT scores. So the number of aspirants applying is with GRE scores in a small number in top schools.

You might want to check the ETS GRE to GMAT Score calculator too, to get an idea.

Your profile is definitely great. Coming from a law background (PQE) - you can really showcase the tasks you have undertaken in the last 6.5 years.

A law and an MBA background is definitely a good and a rare combination. This background helps you in better decision making or when you are looking at dealing with
decisions with respect to M&A , arbitrations or takeover this would help in the long run. So make sure where to position yourself with respect to your post MBA goals.
Once you understand the kinds of roles you would like to work on post MBA - you would be in a better position to select the right schools.

You might want to research on linkedin to look at profiles which have both (law + MBA) background and understand their career progression. Explore 15-30 ranking schools for now with your existing score.

hope this helps.

rgds,
Shree
