I'm a teacher looking (social studies) to shift to accounting. I've applied to the MAC program at UNC's Kenan-Flagler School of business. Although I taught social studies, I have a decent background in mathematics (Calc I, II, III; Statistics) and have taken Micro. Although the program doesn't require an accounting background (even prohibits more than 12 hours of accounting credit), how would a background in teaching appear to admissions? Also, how would my stats fare in terms of both admission and securing funding?
