Hey all, wanted to give you my Toefl debrief.
My overall score was 107:
Reading: 30
Listening: 27
Speaking: 24
Writing: 26
So, what is my advice?
- Be early at the test taking center to not have the distraction of the others being at the speaking section when you are at the listening section.
- Go through the 400 most important words for the Toefl
- Use the official Toefl software for preparation
- practise timing on speaking section
lf you prepared for the verbal section of the Gmat, the Toefl Reading is gonna be easy. My only other advice on the Reading is that you go through the 400 most important Toefl words. I did that and I found it helpful. Around 50 words were new to me. Another thing is that on the actual test it was 4 sections instead of 3, as it is in the Toefl software tests.
For the Listening I prepared with the Toefl software. That was useful, but way easier than the actual test. They speak way faster on the actual test. I was kind of surprised by my score, I thought I had at least 28. Here my suggestion is that you just be early at the TOEFL test, because I was late and in the end of this section several other test takers were already at the speaking section, so that I had to hold the headphones really tight to my ears to understand what they were saying.
Speaking sections was actually exactly the same as on the Toefl software. I just messed it up with my first task and Im sure you guys can prepare better for this section. Most important is practice on timing in my opinion.
Writing was exactly as on the Toefl software. My Writing score was good, since I'm not a great writer in english, yet. My Gmat writing scores weren't too great either.
So, hope I could help you guys a little bit with this post. Good Luck!!
