Thanks @admissianado

GMAT - Q49, V36,

I was a reapplicant at Tepper. I did a ding analysis with a few consultants and they said there were gaps in goal essays. (I am engineering/product manager at hospitality tech and wrote goals essays for Ed-tech Product management)
My professional experience was good, with leadership examples.
My resume did not reflect the best of my professional experience so I am trying to improve it.

I have updates both on work, salary and extra-curricular front that can be sent.
Work - Large size projects and added responsibilities
Salary - Revised salary because of good performance recently
Extra-curriculars - became active part of hiring committee at my org and also leading Covid War Room.

I also plan on finishing MBA math course by next week and send transcript to Tepper.
Admissionado, do you think there's any scope for Indian waitlist candidate to convert ?

Hi enigma1504,

Firstly, your target school's waitlist status is a positive indication. You're someone they'd like to see in the class, but something is stopping them from making a final decision.

Perhaps your profile may be similar to someone who they did admit. In this situation, the admissions committee wishes to balance the class carefully. Or, your application may have a weakness that is giving the admissions committee pause. If the above is right, Here are some tips for MBA waitlisted candidates that may help you get some direction.

I hope this helps!

Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Cheers!

That sounds like a substantial update! You should pull together all of these "new" materials in a single PDF document with an opening cover letter and send to the AdCom ASAP in case there is movement.

There is definitely hope that you can convert. It's very hard to say as I don't have any sense for the size of the Tepper waitlist nor your spot on it. I am not sure the AdCom will reveal that either. I realize that's not confidence boosting, but it's always best to just focus on what you can control instead of on that which you cannot.

Best of luck!

Hi enigma1504,

I was going through the discussion and I really liked the reply by MBAandBeyond. Yes, the WL is significant that Tepper Adcom wants you but there might be another candidate or you are not able to differentiate your applications enough to take another spot.

Please do send the details of the update to Tepper adcom. I think after R3, the admissions decisions are rolling basis, so if the adcom determines that you are good fit, you will get the admit.

Points to be understood. Understand how are you compared with respect to the same pool of applicants from the same country (Indians have a high GMAT score and very similar experience as yours). Always try to differentiate your applications.

This year is supposed to be very competitive as last year was one of the smallest class size as half of the class deferred the admits because of pandemic.

All the best.

Hi enigma1504

Some excellent points made by the others. In addition, if possible, would ask you to consider a retake and an increase on the GMAT as well, if you can. The Indian pool is quite GMAT focused at Tepper. In your update, you might also want to provide further commentary on your goals, how your current experience relates to them, and why you chose them.
