The analysis of sales for a departmental store shows that 20% of the purchases are made by women and 40% of the purchases are high value (i.e. over Rs 5000). If 40% of the high value customers are women, then what is the ratio between low value men and women customers ?

Non of the above is correct, and there is some ambiguity in the question.
Are we comparing low value men to  low value women ? --> the answer will be 14:1 (56:4)
or we are comparing low value men to  total women ? --> the answer will be 14:5 (56:20)

The question is correct as well as the options, however, I figured they have gotten it all wrong as none of the options would fit. That is the same reason I posted here and I think I got my answer from Mahmoudfawzy83.

Let total purchases be 100
Women did 20% of whole
So women bought 20 of whole purchased.
Men did 80
40% of total 100 purchases were high end.
40 purchases are high end purchases.
Low end purchases are 60.

Now,
Women did 40% of high value purchases.
So, 40% of 40 high value purchases = 16 purchases did by women are high ended.
Then, 4 are low ended (As total purchase by women = 20)

Low value purchases = 60
Out of which women did 4
Men did = 56

So ratio of 
Low value purchases of men & total women customers = 56:20 = 14:5

OR

Low value purchases of men & low value of women customers = 56:4 = 19:1

Well, question does have ambiguity, plus is of CAT exam.
So don't worry much.
