=(100%)*700 - (80%)*700 x 100
(80%)*700

=(20%)*700 x 100
(80%)*700

=1/4 x 100 = 25%

Today = $700 (New)
3 years ago = $560 (80% of $700)
Final ratio = New/Old
= $700/$560
= 700/560
= 1.25

Ratio increase = Final ratio - 1
= 1.25 - 1 = 0.25
0.25 × 100 = 25%

This is a type of question where you don't need to consider the actual price. Say price was 100x

100x-80x/80x = 1/4 = 0.25*100 = 25%.

In general, a 20% decrease in original price usually means you need to increase the price by 25% to bring it back to original.
