(1) The height of the child who left is twice greater than the height of the shortest child.
(2) The height of the child who left is 130 cm.

Let x be the number of children.
Total height = 125x
Total height after a kid left the school = 123(x - 1)
x = ?

St1: The height of the child who left is twice greater than the height of the shortest child. --> Clearly insufficient as we do not know the height of the shortest child.

St2: The height of the child who left is 130 cm. --> 125x - 123(x - 1) = 130. We can find the value of x
Sufficient

Answer: B

Hi! Vyshak,

I did this question the same way as you did. However, I have a question.

Solving for x with this equation gives us x= 3.5, but number of children must be an integer.

Thoughts?

Hi agree with Divya, number of kids should be integer. I wonder if the numbers in the question needs some tweaking to make it more solid.
