B. combine to form the circulatory system, a system responsible for the transport of gases, nutrients: correctly use combine for the two systems, and gases and nutrients are the correct versions.
C. combines to form the circulatory system, responsible for the transport of gases, nutrients: "combines" is incorrect
D. combine to form the circulatory system, responsible for the transport of gaseous, nutrients: use of 'gaseous' is wrong here, it should be gases instead.
