The fact that tobacco smoke inhaled by smokers harms the smokers does not prove that the much smaller amount of tobacco smoke inhaled by nonsmokers who share living space with smokers harms the nonsmokers to some degree. Many substances, such as vitamin A, are toxic in large quantities but beneficial in small quantities.
In which one of the following is the pattern of reasoning most similar to that in the argument above?
(A) The fact that a large concentration of bleach will make fabric very white does not prove that a small concentration of bleach will make fabric somewhat white. The effect of a small concentration of bleach may be too slight to change the color of the fabric.
(B) Although a healthful diet should include a certain amount of fiber, it does not follow that a diet that includes large amounts of fiber is more healthful than one that includes smaller amounts of fiber. Too much fiber can interfere with proper digestion.
(C) The fact that large amounts of chemical fertilizers can kill plants does not prove that chemical fertilizers are generally harmful to plants. It proves only that the quantity of chemical fertilizer used should be adjusted according to the needs of the plants and the nutrients already in the soil.
(D) From the fact that five professional taste testers found a new cereal product tasty, it does not follow that everyone will like it. Many people find broccoli a tasty food, but other people have a strong dislike for the taste of broccoli.
(E) Although watching television for half of every day would be a waste of time, watching television briefly every day is not necessarily even a small waste of time. After all, it would be a waste to sleep half of every day, but some sleep every day is necessary.
What is the difference between D and E in terms of reasoning style?

Statement reasoning:"A" causes "E" is not necessary "a" causes somewhat "e/E". Contrary, the example states "C" causes "E" as "c" causes "H" (Don't offend me for that)
A) First part is parallel, but second provides no comparsion to undermine the evidence of the first one.
B) is reverse to the line of argument of the statement
C) No relation between Large amount/ small amount. Just says that too much of sth. can be harmful without adjustment.
D) I like broccoli
E) that a large quantity means a large harm states not that a small quantity means small harm, so it could mean large harm.
I was going with C, but seeing the OA, I think I can guess why it is E. Here is my train of thought:
Smoke(S) is harmful for 1st hand smokers, but it doesn't mean it's harmful for 2nd hand smokers. In fact, Vit A is beneficial in small amounts, while it's harmful in excess.
E follows the same pattern: sleep in excess is bad, but it's beneficial in limited quantities.
Does that make sense?
It came down to D and E for me and I picked D . But now that I know the OA is E, I can understand why. Here is my explanation - do you guys agree or am I am just smoking something
The argument goes like this - a lot something is bad does not prove that a less of something is necessarily bad. a totally irrelavant example shows that a lot of something is bad but less of something is good.
E - has a similar construction. lot of TV watching does not prove that less of TV watching is bad. a lot of sleep is bad but a less of sleep is not.
D - is wrong because it does not follow the lot ...less construction. It follows the less... lot construction (small group agrees, lhence large group will agree)

This is how I did the Q -
Rephrasing the Q - Large amount of X is bad does not mean that small amount of X is bad. After all, large anount of Q is harmful but small amount of Q is beneficial.
I narrowed dwn my choices to A and E. I picked E since E has a similar construction to the Q.
