The following table shows a season's performance of some members of a certain hockey team
For each of the following statements, select True if the statement is true based on the information provided. Otherwise, select False.
Standard deviation measures how spread out a set of values is. A smaller standard deviation means the values are clustered more closely around the mean, while a larger standard deviation means the values are more spread out from the mean.
• Removing Soto's statistics from the table would reduce the standard deviation of the goals scored
The mean of goals scored is 61, and Soto scored only 14, which is very far from the mean. Since Soto is a clear low outlier, removing him makes the remaining goal totals less spread out, so the standard deviation decreases.

The mean of games played is 55, and Machado has exactly 55. So removing him changes the standard deviation: the distribution becomes more spread out, and the standard deviation increases.
