Hi guys,

First off, I love this thread.

I'll be applying R1 this fall but I'd like to get a headstart on my essays...would any of you be interested in giving me your opinion once I'm done with the first drafts?

Also, would it be too drastic of a career change to [want to] go from sales to consulting? I'm thinking it's quite possible because a lot of the associates in the big consulting firms have no prior work experience as they're recruited straight from college...

I look forward to hearing from you :)

Hi sharshar I can't promise anything (because I can't predict what my workload will be going forward), but if I'm free, shoot them to me. Also there is a 2010 thread which needs active contributors such as you :)

Congrats Elderas! :woohoo

Great that it finally worked out, though the timing could definitely have been better. Would you be interested in deferring for next year perhaps? I think we have a few deferred admits in our class this year.

In case the email didn't mention, first day is August 24th -- still doable, I think...

Thanks, actually I could not find out when the courses start, but August 24th seems to be really doable. None the less financing will be challenging. I assume all due dates for scholarships have been passed already correct?

Yes, the rest of the scholarships portfolio was announced last week. After the £7500 deposit (Commitment and Reservation Fees), you have to pay the remainder of first-year fees by October (or you can pay the remainder in two installments with the first installment due in December and second in March 2010, for an extra £250).

LBS sent out an email describing the September scheduele :
As such, you should expect to be on campus from 0800 hrs to 1845 hrs from Monday to Friday for the whole of September. Needless to say, the courses you are taking will require some study out of the classroom so you should expect to be pretty busy during this time with little time for any non-MBA related activities!

I'm sure we'll sneak some time at the Windsor Castle in the middle, but my gclub posts might not have the same depth (at least during September) :)

Sounds frightening. The worst I had during my undergrad was 8.00 till 18.20, with no lunch break – but only one or two days a week were that stressed.

Good luck all LBS-ers!

And our own schedule is yet to be published…

do you know if it will be ok to be away for some days? I already have (very few) dates where I need to be away... is there a limit or do you just have to pass the exams?

The message about all scholarships being awarded is on Portal, but nothing about individual winners. Hope we had some GMATclub representation in the scholarships pool!

Yeah, that 8 am start time is gonna be tough for me. Hopefully I'll be assigned to a far corner of the classroom so I can catch up on my sleep...

Hey guys,

now that everybody must already be in LBS, one more post to this thread.

This idea was actually put to me by MJ, another gmatclub lbs admit, but the gmatclubbers @ LBS should meet up sumtime.

We MiMs (3 of us from gmatclub) still haven't met the MBAs and MiFs, and are kinda curious to talk to the group of people who were a big help in our being here :)

Let's all meet up someday @ Winsdor........You guys suggest a time!

Yeah, it would be great to meet up. The only chance where I met some MiMS is when I unsuccessfully tried to sneak into your BBQ.

Unfortunately, I came down with the "MBA flu" that has been circulating around our classes since last week, so I'm out for the next few days. But I'm down for something next week or after!

Hi Guys
I am applying to LBS this year but the funny thing is that I am not able to open the link to the Online Application Form. Is anybody else having the same problem? I suspect its a problem with the website because the link connecting the application form was under maintainence earlier. Moreover, LBS opened their application form so late considering that the deadline for R1 is 4rth of October while they provided the online application form from 23rd September onwards and its still not working.
