Thank you all for your posts, very helpful. I submitted my application last night.

My profile: male, 32yo, Eastern Europe, . WE 6 years (big electronics giants + government). GMAT 700 (Q 58%, V 98%, total 90%).

Key strength: 10 years of study/work experience abroad (4 countries in Western Europe + 4 years in the far east), trilingual,
Weakness: limited leadership opportunities (due to frequent country and job changes - never stayed in one role more than 20 months).

Now I will pretend I've never applied, until 7 Feb. Goog luck everyone.

I have 3 years of Risk Management experience in the shipping industry. Hopefully it will be enough!

Submitted for R2 2 hours before the deadline pheww. Not feeling too great about my essays especially the life accomplishment one. Based on the research I did my profile does not seem to correspond to what LBS is looking for but I wanted to give it a shot. I'm actually curious to know how many people apply just for the heck of it without having a real shot at it...

In for round 2!

Cille, I come from a shipping background as well. I haven't come across many with shipping related experience applying - good to see someone else!

Count me in for R2, submitted at the nick of time. May the application saints (St. Jude, patron saint for hopeless cases?) smile upon my application. The LBS application has been a tough one even before any interviews. Sigh

I know how you feel, my profile is off the sweet spot at most target Bschools. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Do you mind sharing your profile? what other business schools have you applied to? How many hours (minutes?) before the deadline did you apply?

I personally had this web page constantly open ;)

bseb,

I think I came across your posts at another thread (Kellogg, Wharton?). I am a wild card applicant, my profile has strengths and weaknesses. Male, international, aged 31, softish Gmat 690, non-traditional work, strong extracurriculars/international experience and career changer. Preferred programmes with strong general management & marketing courses, more seasoned students and active student clubs. What about your profile?

So far, my application results have produced one ding. As the poets put it: "Hope dies last" :)

R1: Ross and Fuqua
R2: LBS, Kellogg, Wharton, Insead and Johnson

LBS: within hours, the other BSchools within days of deadline
