Friends I need an advice please

Question 1
I'm now trying to get a plan for my travels for February, that's when the R2 interview invites are coming out.. So in case if I get an invite

So my choice is to stay at my home city, where I know there definitely are alumni and I won't have to travel to get to my interview. Another option is to go to the US (Denver area) where I have to be for work. However I am not sure there will be LBS alumni. So in case if I get an interview invite I might need to travel to another state/city for that. Unfortunately I cannot afford that from time perspective.

What do you think? How likely it is that there are alumni's in the central Colorado area (driving distance at least)? May be someone got an interview there before?

Question 2
Can someone confirm there's only one interview please? Could not find an official info on that on london.edu

Thanks in advance!

I confirm there is only one interview. The R2 interview decision will come out on february 8 as disclosed in the website. You have to consider that it will take up to 2 weeks to arrange an interview.
I believe there are alumni almost everywhere in the world so I would not be so worried about it.

Thanks MBAyer. As an INSEAD W/L er just wanted to figure out when people who have a choice to make , will be forced to take an action by? Looks like INSEAD's 21st Jan date is earlier then LBS's and also INSEAD has higher commitment fee. Hope a lot of people in the position to choose gof ro LBS

Good point which i considered of course; however, i picked LBS!
But anyways, between the 21st and 28th, people have some time to decide.

I just sent an email to LBS, withdrawing my application, hope it helps waitlisters (two spots freed).

It has been a difficult decision!

Though I am only just applying, I feel it would have been great to have you both at LBS. Nevertheless, there is always the exchange program :). Best of luck!

Was LBS supposed to send out the "Application Complete" notifications or something like that, saying whether our packages are complete or not?

If so, did anyone receive that?

Regards

I received 4 emails in total. two confirming references, one after submitting application and one after payment. all of them are automated replies.

they dont confirm the completeness of the received application. if sth is missing in the application they contact you should this missing bit be crucial for the decision. so if they dont contact i would think that application is complete and reviewed in the stage when submitted..

in R1 interview invitations were sent one day earlier.. do you think in R2 they send them out 2 days earlier? :)

Has anybody entered YES in the past disciplinary action question of the application. How badly does it affect your application and how to handle this. Do they actually verify it with the undergrad school in my country? Is it worth not mentioning it or its more of a risk ?

I have heard of somebody being expelled during the second year of their MBA when the particular college came to know about an undergrad incident (involving police) that the applicant had not mentioned/lied about during the application process.

I would suggest not to hide any information from the Adm committee. Instead write convincing reasons for it and the lessons you learned from the experience and how you changed. Everyone knows that undergrads are still "growing up" and immature. Everyone makes mistakes. Question is what you did after you made the mistake.

hi,
There is no mention of the exchange programme between LBS and the university of Cape Town on the website, do u guys know whether this partnership has been stopped, or are they just not mentioning it on the website because the list of schools is too long and they are just mentioning a few?

I can confirm that this was not available to us last year.I think it has been stopped - not quite sure why. Although there is still a LOT of choice.

I'm not quite sure of the reasons why. They were never available to my class (2011) to begin with. Although there are plenty of opportunities for Africa as a target. I know of a few people who are doing projects in South Africa. PE in Africa is big and several recruiters have advertised for Africa based roles. Besides that there are several social opportunities to visit - Mt. Kilimanjaro climb is quite popular and so are visits to Morocco.
