Chaps,

Anyone attending/ attended LBS info session on campus 13th Sept? If so, any news on when actually the application will go live.

I think they are testing everyone's patience this year!

Cheers

There is a session here at Bangalore, India on 19th. If the application doesn't start by then, I can bring up the question. Did you try mailing them?

AdCom is currently testing the online application system and it should go live within a week.

haha Oxford v Webster? Much to my British wife's chagrin, I will remain a Yank, no matter where I go to school

Anyone knows what is happening here?

btw, as a non-native I struggle to find the differences between American and British English. I know some rules such as program-programme, center-centre and others, but not every one.

Sometimes I don't know if I'm writing in American or British English and I mix them. For example, yesterday I found a 'typo' in one of my Chicago essays as I had written "learned" in the first paragraph and "learnt" in the last. Some of them are caught by Word but not all.

I will try to review them 100 times but what if I miss some of these typs? Do you think it would be an issue?

BSD_Lover and tmino,

I have been admitted to Sloan Masters program of LBS; I am joining the program in Jan 2011 and I am 34. I want to know more about the LBS HSBC loan. How hard is it to get the LBS HSBC loan (especially for an Indian and 34 years)? What are the documents that are required? And what extra caution should I have to take to get the loan?

I hadn't even considered this. I think I would stick with American English.

As you should! I'm just curious as to how other colonists will approach this. I'll probably adapt the English conventions for the application essays and hope that I don't miss anything. The problem, of course, with using the English spelling is that if you miss one or two words they will stand out as spelling errors. If your essays are uniformly American, an admissions officer may scoff, but there won't be spelling errors.

First off congrats on your admission!

I'm not familiar with financing options for Sloan students. I know all MBA students are guaranteed a loan by HSBC, but the amount varies depending on several factors. Check the website:
https://www.london.edu/programmes/gettingaloan.html
https://www.london.edu/assets/documents/programmes/HSBC_WEB_new(8).pdf

Best would be to get in touch with someone at the school to discuss your situation. Just give the school a call.

Sloan students are eligible for LBS HSBC loan. I got the LBS HSBC loan documents along with my admission letter. I will be giving the school a call

AdCom is aware of this concern. They are allowing up to a week after the deadline for the submission of reference letters.

How is LBS for entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship specifically? Does LBS want students interested in entrepreneurship or would this be frowned upon as a short-term career goal?

Thanks for any help.
