(A) a restriction that only the closest competitor can be included in the TV advertisements - does not matter how close the competitor is.
(B) a limit on duration for which the competitors can be mentioned in the TV advertisements- Limiting duration won't solve the problem for consumer as in a short duration one can denounce the competitor
(C) a law that forbids mention of any competitor in the TV advertisements - this will eliminate the mention and hence no denouncing of any sorts
(D) an increase in information related to features, quality, and cost of products/services in the TV advertisements - the problem is not due to more denounceing of competitor and less info about their own product.
(E) a limit on the number of times advertisements are shown on TV - Not at all, since number of times advertisement is shown is not what is causing the issue.

C) a law that forbids mention of any competitor in the TV advertisements

The best possible initiative that can be taken to correct the confusion created by advertisements
B and A are temporary solutions.
D and E are TO SOME EXTENT OUT OF SCOPE
