The number 2 - 0.5 is how many times the number 1 - 0.5?

(A) 2
(B) 2.5
(C) 3
(D) 3.5
(E) 4

From the stem we can set up the following equation:

$$(2-0.5)=x*(1-0.5)$$;

$$1.5=x*0.5$$;

Solution:

Let the multiplier be x.
2-0.5 = x(1-0.5)
1.5 = 0.5x
=> x = 3

Ans is (C)

This seems like a sub-500 question.

2 - 0.5 = 1.5 and 1-0.5 = 0.5 which is 1/3 of 1.5 so answer C.

Why does it seem like very few actually respond to the OG Quant review questions, in relation to the usual OG's?
