Choose a convenient number such as 8. The width will be equal to 1 = Perimeter = 2W+2L . where W = Width and L = Length
2W + 2L = 8

2(1) + 2L = 8

2+2L = 8

2L = 6

L =3

Therefore the ratio of length to width for rectangle R is 3: 1

Hence option C = 3:1 is the answer.

Perimeter of rectangle = $$2L + 2W$$
Perimeter of rectangle = $$8W$$
Ratio of length to width = $$\frac{L}{W}$$?

$$2L + 2W = 8W$$
$$2L = 6W$$
, so
$$\frac{L}{W}=\frac{6}{2}=\frac{3}{1}$$
