Initial condition
Boys. Girls
11x. 17x

Final condition
Boys. Girls
11x+7. 17x +3

New total = 11x+7 +17x + 3= 28x +10

B:G=11x:17x
Total (B+G) =28x

New Total = B+7 + G+3 = 28x+10

A. 28 = Eliminate because it is old total
B. 35 = Eliminate because the new total has to be atleast 38 (when x = 1)

Solve for x using the equation 28x+10 = Answer choice, where x has to be an integer as number of boys/girls cannot be a fraction
C. 59 -> x = 1.75
D. 94 -> x = 3

E. 119 -> x = 3.9

Answer: D) 94

Let the common ratio be x, so total students before addition = 11x+17x = 28x
New students added = 7+3 =10
So total = 28x+10...
Thus if you subtract 10 from each choice, the correct answer should be multiple of 28..
Now 28x+10 will be EVEN, so B, C and E out..
28x+10=28......28x=18... integer value of x NOT possible
28x+10=94....28x=84.....x=3...so possible

7 boys and 3 girls were added to the class = 10 students were added

Now, check the options,

Given Option - 10 must be divisible by 28

(A) 28 - 10 = 18 Not divisible by 28
(B) 35 - 10 = 25 Not divisible by 28
(C) 59 - 10 = 49 Not divisible by 28
(D) 94 - 10 = 84 Divisible by 28
(E) 119 - 10 = 109 Not divisible by 28

Answer must be (D)
