w/x = 5/4 = 40/32

x/y = 8/1 = 32/4

y/z = 1/3 = 4/12

w : x : y: z = 40 : 32: 4: 12

put a common unit to the ratio.

w + x = 40m + 32m = 72m

z = 12m

Required Ratio: w + x / z = 72m / 12m = 6/1.

A is the correct answer.

w/x=5/4; 4w=5x
x/y=8/1; x=8y
y/z=1/3; 3y=z

Multiply x=8y by 5 to get 5x=40y; to get y equal on all equations multiply by 3 to equation 1 and 2 + 40 to Equation 3; 12w=15x=120Y=40Z; Convert the (W+X)/Z to X using the above and arrive at 6 so IMO A

w/x= 5/4, x/y=8/1, z/y=3/1

$$\frac{(w+x)}{z}$$ =((5x/4)+4)/(3x/8)= 6/1

We can make the ratio of w to x as 10 : 8.

Since the ratio of x : y = 8 : 1, we have:

w : y = 10 : 1

We also have y : z = 1 : 3

Thus, w : z = 10 : 3

Therefore:

w : x : y : z = 10 : 8 : 1 : 3

So w + x : z is 18 : 3 = 6 : 1.

w/x = 5/4 ----> 1
X/y = 8/1 ----> 2
Y/z = 1/3 ----> 3

(W + x)/z = ??

Value of x from 1 is 4k (where k is constant) and from 2 is 8k.
Since value of Y from 2 and 3 is (k), lets multiply and divide 1 by (2) so as to make the value of x as 8k.

Therefore, now new value is
W/x = 10/8

(W+x) = (10+8)k = 18k
Z = 3k

(W+x) / z = 6
