Hi everybody .... I took the GMAT one month ago with a disappointing 540 and a painful V 28. Struggling with RC that was almost dead , and surfing the forums as well as the entire internet for a successful strategy to help tackle RC , this is what worked for me and I am sharing it so that it might help anybody in the same boat .
1-Thursdays with Ron :

Long Passages & Main Idea Questions
Short Passages & Miscellaneous Question Types
A Trick for Finding the Main Idea - Data Sufficiency: Number Line problems, part 1
Inference & Suggestion Questions

These I felt complementary to Ron's ..each clarified in my eyes different things than the other and each of them has his own style of simplifying things
3- Slingfox's RC notes on this forum.
4- If you have the full Manhattan collection you can go through the RC guide , but if you do not have the full collection then you do not have to buy it on is own.
5- Take your time to read the passage , read it well to guarantee 3-4 successive questions . You can also while annotating the main points take under each main point some keywords to help you when referring back to the passage for specific detail questions.

By the way , from my second attempt I can say that despite I did not manage to achieve the score I wanted yet this recipe worked quite well . My disappointment was mainly due to timing not technique . I also recommend watching out for transition words ( thus, however , despite ,...................) and marking keywords in the text ( dates , names ,..........). Just know where to find them when you need them . Good luck for all , and myself too

Hi TheNona,
Your RC recipe looks good. I have added the resources you mentioned - GMATPrep now and Kaplan RC blogs to the Ultimate Reading Comprehension Encyclopedia, thanks.
In GMAT RC, comprehension is much more important than speed. I personally devoted more time to RC questions during the test. I compensated for the extra time for RC by strengthening SC. On average, I took 1.5 minutes per question in SC. My strategy was to first fully understand the passage and then then tackle questions one my one, on an average I spent 2.5 minutes per questions.
