In SC questions, when you see certain words such as "and", whereby a list is initiated, you know you're most likely dealing with a parallel marker question. Now in this case, we are dealing with two groups of people, those who are opposing and those who are supporting the use of pesticides. The marker "and" requires the sentence to be parallel. We also know that when we are comparing only TWO things, we use "between x and y" rather than "among x and y", the latter is used when there are more than two things compared. Hence B is correct.

The key is to identify proper usage of idioms and people involved in an old debate. 
Clearly, in this sentence, there are two groups of people, " those who oppose the use of pesticides " and " those who feel that the pesticides are necessary to save the trees "
Given there are two distinct groups, we should use " between ",  Between A and B

Additional pointer, in the part not, underlined, it uses, " those who ... " To make the sentence more parallel, the first part should also have " those who ... "

Among vs between: From the original sentence, it is more reasonable that the debate is between 2 groups of people, who have different opinions.
Then A is out. D has idiomatic error. Thus, B is the answer.

I am not sure that 2 groups given leading to the use of "between...and..." as the idiom in this case.

Between is used to compare 2 things. Among is used for comparing more than 2 things. 
In this particular question, 2  groups  are compared- those who oppose the use of pesticides and those who are in favor of the use of pesticides. So  between should be used .
Options  A,C and E  are eliminated. 
The correct form is  between X and Y .  D  uses  between X with Y  which is wrong.
 B  is the correct choice since the construction is correct.

Choices A, C,  and  E  can be faulted for using among in place of between to refer to two factions.

Choices C  and  D  incorrectly use with in place of and .

Also, those opposing in  choices C  and  E  is not parallel with those who feel .

Choice B  is the best.

This is pretty straight forward. Was able to do it under 19 seconds.
This was my logic-
There was 2 issues for debate so we'll have choose between and not among, so A, C ,E are out.
between X and Y is the correct idiom and not between X with Y so D is out.

B is the correct answer.
