I'm going to go with the obvious answer here and pick

C

although I do understand what the last post is saying.... in which case it would be E

The share price of AMCO has risen consistently for 20 years. What was it worth in December 1998?
(1) In December 1994, the stock was valued at $49.
(2) During the bull market from 1994 to 1999, the stock increased in value by 10% each year.

25 seconds C
A is insuff
B is insuff
if we know that in Dec 94' the value was $49, and that the stock increased by 10% each year, we can figure out teh price in Dec 98.

OA?

I can clearly see 2 assumptions in your answer.

1) We have not been given whether it is an compounded increase or simple increase.
2) mentioned by "mallelac".

Will you still opt for (C)?

Am joining Mallelac's party!!

Clearly its E...The catch here is December...we cannot say for sure that we can find it for Dec 98.

Regarding your fist point, i think you're reading too much into a problem by considering that it could be either compounded or simple increases

As far as what Mallelac mentioned, he could very well be right and in that case I would've missed this question.

Not to be impatient or anything, but what's the OA?

i'm putting in my vote for C. If it increased 10% each year, and started at 49 at the end of 94, then it's increase each year until the end of 98. Seems like the safest bet to me.
