4. The number of deaths due to heart disease doubles every year from 2001 to 2004. If the number of deaths due to heart disease in 2000 was 10,000, how many people died in 2004 due to heart disease?
3. In Country Y, if the percentage of deaths due to natural disasters in 2000 is the same as the percentage of deaths due to car accidents in 2001, approximately how many people died in 2000 due to natural disasters?
A) 495 B) 990 C) 1020 D) 1230 E) 1410
The percentage of deaths due to natural disasters in 2000 is the same as the percentage of deaths due to car accidents in 2001 = 5.09%
Approximately how many people died in 2000 due to natural disasters = 5.09/100*20*1000 = 1018
Sajjad1994, deaths are increasing from 2001 to 2004 by twice of rate, but we don't know about the rate from 2000 to 2001. So answer should be E) It cannot be determined from the information given
number of deaths due to heart disease doubles every year from 2001 to 2004.....?????? Please explain 2nd question
The total deaths in 2004 were 29.28 thousand, which is less than 160 thousand. It's illogical to have 160 thousand deaths due to heart disease while there were 29.28 thousand deaths in 2004.
