I have a doubt here!
that idolized him Here THAT marks the beginning of a clause and its a Dependent Clause so use of semi colon is INAPPROPRIATE then why is C the right choice, even though it is not exactly separating two independent clauses ??

here, semicolon is joining two IC's:
IC1:The Confederate general Stonewall Jackson led a feared army that idolized him

IC2: they all mourned his ironic death from “friendly fire.”
