There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Assume the 8 sandwich gets cut into 3 slices each, so total number of slices = 24. P,Q,R each has to get 8 slices. P has 15 slices (5 sandwich split into 3 each) and Q has 9 slices(3 sandwich split into 3 each).
- P keeps 8 slices and gives 7 remaining slices to R - Q keeps 8 slicesand gives 1 remaining slice to R
I don't agree with any of the answers and solutions provided. The question clearly asks "how much from those 8$ does P get" not in total. P gives 5 and Q gives 3 sandwiches(s) and R gives 0 making it a total of 8. so each gets 8/3 s.
The contribution of P and Q in total of 8 s is 5/8 and 3/8 resp. so Their contribution to R becomes:
from P: 5/8 * 8/3 = 5/3 s from Q: 3/8 * 8/3 = 1 s
Now, they are payed in the same ratio of their contribution: payment to P: [(5/3)/ (8/3)] * 8 = 5$ making the right answer as C.
