I see on the GMAC website that official results take 3 weeks to get but I am wondering how much time I should build into the time between writing the GMAT and the time before I submit my application. I am shooting for a Dec. 5th deadline and want to know what the latest to take the test would be to accomodate the deadline.
Any insight is appreciated.

I would not worry about it too much. Unless the school has rolling admissions, the applications probably will not be reviewed until after the deadlines pass. I would target a week or 2 before the school deadline, but that is cutting it close. You do get an "unofficial" score the day of the test so you can self report on the application. You will not be able to self report the AWA score, but I doubt it will make a huge impact. I believe I got my score about 2 weeks after the test date.

I got my score back exactly a week after the test, so maybe build in a couple of weeks to be safe.
