Guys,

Is it still true that there is no time limit to read the instructions before AWA? I am still confused which sections on the GMAT are untimed. Can anyone throw some light?

Guys,

That's correct - the initial section which includes tutorial about the computer and the part where you fill out your information/pick schools is untimed, though few people want to spend much time reading them usually (most want to get done with the test asap).

The breaks are timed. There is no way to get more than 8 mins away from the computer....

1 thing to know which isn’t available online is that, when you return from the break and click to proceed to the section, a screen with instructions for that section will appear. This screen I believe lasts for 120 secs. You can use this time for plugging in your ear plugs or jotting something on your scratch pad!
