Hi ,
I have been practicing for GMAT for couple of months and have good accuracy in Quants , CR & SC

Need suggestions to improve RC ,

Gave a mock day before yesterday and got 3 passages continuously so lost all the concentration and received a verbal score of 21 need your suggestion to improve RC

bb @BUNEL @SCOTTESTPREP KarishmaB @SAJJID1994

A tip that is sure to help - In all stated detail questions, do not rely on memory to answer the questions. GMAT excels at trapping you with the wording of the incorrect options. Double back and check the relevant part of the passage to ensure that what you think is the answer is actually the answer.

Case in point - Most of your tags would not work. They are Bunuel ScottTargetTestPrep Sajjad1994 :)

From the twin post:

If you want to practice reading but save Official RC passages/questions, consider using articles from The Economist that are similar to those on the GMAT. Becoming familiar with how INFERENCE questions work could be helpful as well. You could also see if you can find a study buddy who is really strong on RC.

Hi naveengmat15,

Many GMATers find at least some part of the Verbal section to be challenging - so you are not alone. Thankfully, the Verbal section is as consistent and predictable as the Quant section is, but Verbal questions have no 'safety net' - meaning that if you make a little mistake or miss a vital piece of information, then you will convince yourself that one of the wrong answers is correct (and not realize it). Proper note-taking is essential for all RC prompts; your ability to predict what the correct answer will state before you look at the 5 choices can greatly increase your Scores, so you have to train to do the proper work on every Verbal question that you face.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
