I’m frustrated because my performance isn’t improving despite a lot of practice. I keep making “silly mistakes” in quant
• Misreading “could be true” as “should be true.”
• Copying numbers incorrectly into calculations.
• Answering percentage increase when the question asked for something else.
even in verbal misreading the question stem
It feels like no matter how much I practice, I still repeat these errors.
Has anyone else gone through ? what helped you improve focus and accuracy?
Would appreciate any insights.

A few strategies that can help to improve focus and reduce careless errors:
1) Slow down and re-read the question stem carefully, especially in Quant and Verbal.
2) Underline or highlight key words like “could,” “must,” “not,” or anything specifying what’s actually being asked.
3) Double-check numbers when transferring them into your work—many mistakes start with copying errors.
4) Do untimed accuracy drills where the goal is zero careless errors, not speed.
5) Use a quick mental checklist before locking in an answer (e.g., did I answer what was asked? Did I check units?).
During review, focus not just on what went wrong, but why the mistake happened (rushing, zoning out, etc.).
Simulate real test conditions often to build mental stamina.
These small habits really add up over time. Stay consistent—it does get better.
