Tom and Jack are in a line to purchase iphones. How many people are in the line?

(1) There are 20 people behind Tom and 20 people in front of Jack.

(2) There are 5 people between Tom and Jack.

Let the line be as follows:
FRONT...BACK
Let J = Jack, T = Tom, and X = a person other than Jack or Tom.

Both statements are satisfied by the following cases.

Case 1:
X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-J-X-X-X-X-X-T-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X
Total number of people = 47.

Case 2:
X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-T-X-X-X-X-X-J-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X
Total number of people = 35.

Since the total number of people can be different values, the two statements combined are INSUFFICIENT.
