Today I took the test. Since I am fasting and am flue, it was not a comfortable day. I would rather take the exam next wednesday.

It was a normal exam. I did as gmatpreps, powerpreps and 800scores.

I can not write a good debrief. Because my study process was not so good. I have always scored 51q. In the exam I scored too. I was scoring 30-31 verbal. It increased only to 34 :(

I don't think that it is a bad score since it is like the means of the top schools. I don't think to retake the exam. So far gmat is over. Next is the toefl and the application process.

Thanks for all of you. Although I have not scored very good, I became a gmat expert with the help of you. I will be here in application process and so. And I will help in quant forums to all needs help.

Getting 51 is a talent. Very good score!
Why did you decide to take TOEFL afterwards rather than before?

Thanks BB. You gave me a lot of things. I did not have time for toefl. I think getting a 100 is enough for nearly all schools.

From your post, you sound not excited about your scores. But believe me, there would me many others who just dream for such a good score. I guess your percentile would be somewhere near 92, which means there are 92% applicants scoring below what you have scored.

Having said that, the admissions greatly depends on your applications and essays. So if you feel your scores are not competitive enough, I would suggest you to spend more time on the application and essays, and prepare well for the interviews. All the best.

Thanks a lot. You got how my feelings like. Nonetheless, I could not have enough time to crack the verbal part. 92 percent is a good percent but it means about 7 percent is over you and this means nearly 14 thousand people are over you. If I had a more competitive score (not too high 730-740 and this scores mean 2-3 more correct verbals :( ) I would be happier. But I do not think it is a bad score and retaking is too risky for me. So this means gmat is over for me. From now, I will focus on essays which will be very hard for me.

It is not fantastic, but should be OK. I would not retake just due to the AWA.

You killed the math out there....congrats for crossing 700

Adcoms rarely look at AWA.

Do well on your essays...

Yesterday I read from the official website of UC Berkeley that UCB is taking care the quant score most. It is a good news for me. Are there any schools that focus on quant side most?

from what i've read, alot of the emphasis depends on your background. so if you worked in IT or engineering, b-schools will look to your verbal score to make sure you will be able to communicate effectively in the classroom and the workplace. however, ive also read that schools like MIT really put a focus on the quant score, so maybe that should be high on your list as well.

Thanks this is a good thought. I have a quant background in high school but graduated from a business school and working in an environment that much depends on communication. But not english :-D
