Are there certain MBA programs that are more fitting for people who majored in math (or other STEM fields) undergrad? I understand that most bschool students majored in either business or the social sciences.

It seems like MIT admits more math/STEM students than most... is this a good or a bad thing? Would a math major have a better chance of getting into MIT, or would he be competing against a tougher segment? And would it make sense to be around other "mathy" students, or is it better to go to a school with more business people?

Your major will have little influence on your admission. Rather, what you DID with what you studied.

And actually, lots of schools like STEM majors, so although, yes MIT has this math aura about it, I'm not sure it's more true than other schools.

I got the impression that schools judge you against "similar" applicants. So if I'm applying as a white male with a major in mathematics, then I would be competing with other white male math majors. Since MIT has more math majors than other bschools, I wasn't sure if that would help or hurt.

And there is a second part to the question: is it good to be around "fellow mathies" or is it better to be exposed to more mainstream business students?
